In this episode, my guest is James Danckert. James is a Cognitive Neuroscientist at the University of Waterloo where he studies boredom, attention, mental models, and the consequences of stroke. He lives in Kitchener with his wife and two boys and alleviates his own boredom with a semi-acoustic Fender, sailing whenever feasible, reading, and gardening.

In this episode we talk about:

  • What boredom is
  • How to know when you’re in a bored state
  • How to keep boredom at bay
  • And boredom’s role in depression
