In my first podcast EVER! I share one of my favorite and most transformative classroom routines: advice and affirmations. I run through several of my favorite pieces of advice I've ever been given. I discuss their meanings and where I've found them take root in my life and in the world. This podcast serves as a "teacher example" for how students can take informative writing pieces and turn them into something that can live on and educate others, rather than die in the grade book as a sad essay. So be on the lookout for student-led podcasts coming up where groups of students take their informative pieces and collaborate with their peers to discuss their favorite advice from this year and where their research has proved its importance in the world around us.
