Forgiveness — recognizing that offense has been given, but choosing to move past it — is one of the most difficult and benevolent things a person can do. It is also a hallmark of God’s relationship to His fallen children.
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing,” Jesus pleaded as he was being crucified (Luke 23:34). What a Savior! His final thoughts were of you — and of forgiveness.
What a wonderful God we serve, who is willing and able to forgive all our sins, who “pardons iniquity,” and who is willing to cast all our sins “into the depths of the sea” (Micah 7:18-19)
