John 3:16 New International Version16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
To explain what salvation is why we need and why God showed us mercy and offers salvation to us.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
That if thou shalt confess, etc. - Acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as the only Savior. Believe in thy heart that he who died for thy offenses has been raised for thy justification; and depend solely on him for that justification, and thou shalt be saved.
Believe - To have a firm conviction of one accepted truth in one's faith. You must believe.

Jesus the leader, our mentor, our Savior, he set the pace for us in his sermon on the mount. Matthew 5 – 7 Jesus laid out the core values for our walk with him. He knew that he would seal our relationship with the Father by his death on the Cross. So he begins teaching us in chapter 5 he told us about the attitude that he was looking for in a believer a follower of Jesus Christ. He gave us the beatitudes which sets a blue print for traits that God will bless.
