Ageing in Action welcomes Lily Bouchard, Director of Communications for Northern Ontario PPE for HCP (Personal Protective Equipment for Health Care Providers) to discuss this amazing group of volunteers borne out of the need for PPE during COVID-19. Although things have eased somewhat at this point in time, there is still a need for PPE in many communities and organizations.
Check out their website at https://northernontarioppe.ca/ and reach out for more information if you would like to help or need assistance. Also, here is a link to their GoFundMe page https://gf.me/u/x5abyp
"We are a group of over 100 medical, allied healthcare, and engineering students, who alongside various community partners, decided to create a coordinated front for the fight against COVID-19 in Northern Ontario. Frontline healthcare providers are our friends, families, teachers and our future, which is why we decided to lend them a helping hand by sourcing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) through three avenues - PPE redistribution, PPE production (sewn and 3D printed), as well as fundraising. Servicing 35 communities and counting, from Kenora to the Muskoka’s, we strive to make sure that all of our communities are equipped to handle what is to come."
