Our guest this week is Dublin man Captain Jimmy Devlin. Jimmy retired from Aer Lingus in June 2012, having been the Manager of their Airbus fleet and having flown most of the Aer Lingus fleet from the 737-200, the Shorts 360 and Saab 340 and the BAE146 with Aer Lingus Commuter before moving to the Airbus A320 and A330. In this chat, he shares the story of his flying career from young cadet to Fleet Manager of the Airbus aircraft in the airline, remembering the people he worked with along the way. He also shares some valuable advice for younger people considering an aviation career. Jimmy is now an Instruction at Simtech Aviation on their MCC/JOC and APS training programmes.
