Title: The Power of Easter
Speaker: Pastor Paul Bailey

Easter is more than a date on the calendar β€” it is the heart of the Gospel. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ were not meant to remain distant historical facts, but to become a personal, life-changing experience for every believer. The same power that raised Christ from the dead can transform our lives today.

πŸ“– Key Text:
Romans 6:3-5 β€” β€œ...like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

1️⃣ The Death: Repentance

Repentance is where transformation begins β€” the spiritual death of self. Just as Christ laid down His life, we must lay down ours at the altar of surrender.

  • πŸ“– Acts 2:38 β€” Repentance is the first response to the Gospel.
  • πŸ“– Luke 13:3 β€” Jesus taught that repentance is not optional: "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

2️⃣ The Burial: Baptism in the Name of Jesus

Baptism isn’t a symbol alone β€” it’s the burial of the old life. In baptism, we identify with Christ’s burial, our sins are washed away, and we rise into newness of life.

  • πŸ“– Colossians 2:12 β€” "Buried with him in baptism..."
  • πŸ“– Acts 22:16 β€” Baptism is an urgent and essential step in obeying the Gospel.

3️⃣ The Resurrection: Walking in Newness of Life

The resurrection is more than a past event β€” it’s a present power. As believers, we are called to walk in that new life, daily.

  • πŸ“– 2 Corinthians 5:17 β€” In Christ, old things are passed away.
  • πŸ“– Galatians 2:20 β€” Our new life is Christ living in us.

πŸ’ Reflection:

  • Have you experienced the death of the old life through true repentance?
  • Have you been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ?
  • Are you living daily in the power of His resurrection, walking in newness of life?

🏁 Closing Challenge:
πŸ“– Philippians 3:10-11 β€” "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection..."

The story of Easter doesn’t end at the empty tomb β€” it continues in every life that surrenders to the death, burial, and resurrection pattern of the Gospel.

The question isn’t just: do you know the Easter story?
The question is:
πŸ’‘ Has it become your story?
