Sermon Title : Overcoming Together with God
Date : 28th June 2020
Delivered by : Rev. Wendy Ching
Exodus 17:8-13
-
- God works in different ways to help us in our battles
- God want us to fight together with him so that we can see that we can win together with God. We can gain the skills and strength of character as we take up the privilege of joining God in our battles.
- Presumptuous faith dictates to God on how he must work. We cannot confine God to our expectations on how He should help solve our problems.
- Rather God expects us to take personal responsibility and common sense when faced with battles.
-
- It is important to know that what happens in the spiritual realm affects the physical realm. Our prayer and trust in God has the power to change the outcome of a situation.
- Prayers is not supplemental to winning the battle, it is foundational.
- We do our part, take action when action needs to be taken, plan and strategize but God is the one who determines the outcome of the battle.
-
- Fatigue in prayer and fighting life’s battles happens to the best among us because it demands effort and perseverance.
- We need to help one another in our prayers just as Aaron and Hur supported Moses’ hands in prayer. Reason is that some battles go on for a long time. God wants us to encourage one another and be a blessing to each other.
- Together in prayer we can overcome and change what is happening in the physical realm.
