In this podcast, I review the recent book TikTok Boom; this book examines the rise of TikTok - the short content sharing app owned by Chinese parent company ByteDance. The app has grown faster than any other social media app and has well over a billion monthly active users.  Its growth and success is a result of careful design, curation and management of the ecosystem, and I detail some of this in the podcast.  Concerns are still held regarding TikTok's use of and sharing of data, especially the role of the ruling Chinese Community Party.  TikTok represents the first wave of Created in China tech - no doubt more is on the way.
