William Pereira was the visionary architect who designed the campus at UC - Irvine. His master plan  was based on revolutionary urban planning concepts that not only shaped the university, but the city that would later surround it.

Alan Hess is an architect and architectural historian who has written nineteen books on modern architecture. An expert on the work of William Pereira, Hess has worked to preserve the county's architectural heritage as a member of the Board of Directors of Preserve Orange County.
