Today’s episode is a spotlight on a sensitive yet crucial topic, weight management. The prevalence of obesity is increasing worldwide and with that more overweight men and women with fertility challenges. Your fertility doctor may have neglected to bring it up, but studies reveal excess weight can be linked to issues with eggs, sperm, ovulation and more.

Really what it comes down to is being educated on the benefits of weight reduction in the improvement of pregnancy rates. A combination of a reduced calorie diet, reducing fat and refined carbohydrate intake, and increasing exercise have shown to be beneficial on your path to baby. Even a slight reduction in weight can help reduce inflammation, balance insulin and blood sugar, regulate ovulation and quicken the path to pregnancy. And it’s of great benefit for many women with estrogen-sensitive conditions like endometriosis or fibroids.
