The Psalmist longs to see God's saving power saying, "My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled." He knows that in times of persecution, God alone can save, so he awaits God's promises with expectation. Equipped with the knowledge of God's word, the Psalmist knows his hope is found only in God.
