This podcast is a study in contrasts. Nathan Hale was a very successful Dutch School teacher who volunteered to discover things George Washington needed to know about British troop movements. "My only regret is that I have only one life to give for my country".
Benedict Arnold was an American hero. He was second in command at the Battle of Saratoga and hero of our attempt to take Montreal and was terribly wounded in the process.. Because he was overlooked for promotion by Congress he turned and sold us out by attempting to give the British the plans to West Point. And then to compound the issue he became a general in the British army and fought against us. He was a bad man.
