The church is not designed for entertainment but for the development of the people to live out God's calling for his honor and glory. As we explore this truth, we'll hone in on two core ideas:

1. Jesus was constantly developing people
2. The early church continued what Jesus modeled

Jesus made disciples by telling them to imitate His words and actions. He also organized people, like sending out His disciples two-by-two to proclaim the gospel (Luke 10).

In Acts, we see the early church appointed deacons (chapter 6) and sent out missionaries (chapter 13).
