We often start the new year with lots of goals for ourselves and our families. We want to see change for the better, so we go out and get gym memberships, start new eating plans, etc. Then, a few weeks later, it gets tough to maintain what we had set out to do! This week, Josh and Matt explain how over the long haul, your family won’t drift toward rising to fulfill their goals…but rather will fall to the level of the ‘systems’ we have in place. Want to see a change in 2022? Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what systems your family needs to build in order to achieve your goals!

How should I talk with my kids about gender identity? social media use? death? sex? racial justice? This week we continue a new series called "Confusing Conversations" - we'll look at these difficult conversations and unpack some ways to approach each of them in wisdom.

Before we can do any of that we have to identify a few key ideas...namely...where do we get this wisdom from? Our world, our friends, our family, and even us as individuals all  have opinions on how to approach these conversations with our kids. BUT, Scripture teaches that true wisdom comes from God. And if we want true wisdom, we have to seek Him through His Word. Before we guide our kids through these conversations, we first have to guide ourselves into God's Word.

A gentle, humble spirit is something we want to see in our kids...but to see it in them we need to live it out in front of them. The goodness of God is something to be enjoyed & something that should allow us to experience freedom in our lives. However, often times Christianity feels a lot more like a list of dos and don'ts than true freedom - and parents can find themselves being more concerned about their kids' behavior rather than the condition of their kids' heart. This week we unpack why this is such a common struggle, and some truths that will help us train a child's heart instead of raising little Pharisees.
