Ibukun  Olajide was a delight to speak to, perhaps because her name means “blessing”.  She has experienced being the only woman in the room and also the only Black woman in the room, in her university classes and at first job as a chemical engineer.

She was born in the UK and grew up in Nigeria. She completed her tertiary study and met her husband in the UK where she now lives with her family. We chatted about her name and upbringing, how she responds to discrimination and bigotry, her response to George Floyd's death and the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020, and her look to the future.

Ibukun has a beautiful way of communicating and I think you will like hearing her story and her point of view. If you want to hear more from Ibukun,  she has her own podcast called Speak with Ibukun.
