Sometimes the smallest ideas are really the biggest ones.  We just don’t get the basics right in Los Angeles, but we can.  Let’s start with streets and sidewalks: they make our city walkable and drivable.  They make our city work.  But our leaders let bad streets and sidewalks get worse, when they should be prioritizing high-traffic thoroughfares over side streets that have already been repaved three times. We can do better.  We must do better.
