As we get ready to celebrate Father's Day, I want to be honest and say that what is supposed to be a day of celebration is actually a hard day for me and I'm sure many others. It's a day when we celebrate all of the dads and father figures in our lives, but it's one that I can't pick up the phone or stop by for a visit because I lost my dad to cancer 4 years ago.
I don't have any tips or to do's in this episode, but what I do have is honest real conversation about losing someone and how that is a pain that never goes away. And because it never goes away, it is now a part of me; a part of my story.
This episode is intended to let you know that if you've lost someone that's dear to you, you're not alone. This episode is meant to remind to celebrate. Celebrate with those that are still with you and the ones that have gone before you because of the legacy that still lives on today.
This episode is about letting the river lead you, rather than trying to steer the boat. Let it take you where it will and let it heal you in the process.
XO,
- Bridget
