Could the Deut. passage be about non-marital sexual relations rather than rape (such as in Ex. 22:16)? Elsewhere, God punishes rape with death, not marriage.

How do we reconcile two different and even contradictory interpretations of Scripture while still believing in and prioritizing the authority of Scripture?
