Ep 19. Today I sit down with Dr. Anthony Randall. A good friend and certified expert on leadership development, counseling, and spirituality. He and I have a candid talk about my personal journey with alcohol and how someone who doesn't drink owns and operates a brewery.
If you are or know anyone struggling with addiction, this is a must listen to podcast.
Explicit topics and language....fair warning.
Ep 18. I sit down with the President of Columbus State University to discuss timely topics pertaining to academia. I, as politely as possible, question the value of higher education in its modern iteration, the inclusion of CRT in the classroom, and the COVID response (good, bad, and everything else).
Dr Markwood and his staff showed great sportsmanship as we went back and forth on several issues. I will have them back and am glad we had this sit down.
Ep 17
If you get through the 1 minute intro and DON'T listen to the whole thing....then I don't know what to tell you. Rep Smith discusses health care, how the GA House works, how the application fo critical race theory in the University System of GA ended up leading to assaults on campus, and I push back on the online haters who claim I am a right wing shill.
Fun times being political....love it.
Ep 16
An episode which is simultaneously brutal (so there's your trigger warning) and humorous. Candidly, we need more stories like these simply to raise awareness of what life is like for so many of our fellow citizens.
Neil brings a lot to the table...you'e gonna be glad you spent the time listening to him.
Ep 15.
A deep conversation covering almost everything on the minds of concerned (706) citizens today. Race, violence, politics, social media, the modern family, etc... Get past the first 15 minutes of chit chat and it gets to another level.
You want a real conversation? You got one. And I am sure this is the first of many between the Michaels.
Ep 14
Michael sits down with a local Columbus film maker John Houzer to bring you one of the local stories which make the 706 a great place to live.
John is a serious movie nerd and an incredibly talented young artist. Go to Johnhouzer.com or search John Houzer on all the social media channels to see his work.
13- Join Michael and the Columbus Lions Head Coach Jason Gibson as they discuss the 2021 National Arena Football League season which is under way. Learn about the game itself and the level of play on the field.
Did you know Jason is the longest tenured arena coach in America and that he has had 55 players head up to the NFL out of his program?
There's a lot more to learn, too.
Sometimes we talk about serious social issues.....sometimes we relax a little and talk sports in a bar.
Enjoy!
Ep 12 - Good friends Michael and Tyler sit down to do a long talk about things we could all benefit from hearing; transitioning as a veteran, owning a business, would we do it again (the answer may surprise you), politics and money, what's important in life....money, family, fame, volunteering?
A great listen to two buddies having a talk about just about everything.
11 - Michael comes back after Easter break and.....wait for it....being diagnosed with COVID. Michael talks about is personal experience being COVID positive and how he managed it as a small business owner.
If you're a small business owner concerned with how youd handle it, you may want to give this a listen. If you want a raw first hand account of COVID its worth your time.
There is something in this for everyone!
As serious a discussion as we've had yet with Michael Harrell of 11th and Bay here in Columbus, GA. The gloves come off as we discuss the rise of socialism in America and how he witnessed socialism in Venezuela, COVID lockdowns impact on small businesses, suicide, and the ramifications of policy on small businesses moving forward.
A perspective from the guy trying to make it in this upside down world.
Episode 9 - You don't know "The Springer" until you hear Brian Luedtke speak on it....hilarious and very useful podcast full of a lot of "did you know" moments. We have a historic gem right here in downtown Columbus and it deserves recognition! By the way, if you ever want to meet Brian stop by the beer garden every Sunday at 6 pm....he's always there for a beer and conversation. After you bust up laughing for an hour you'll probably want to swing by and meet this awesome man I am proud to call a friend.
Michael sits down with local NFL professional athlete DJ Jones to talk local sports and local pro athletes walking among us. Do you know what local athletes have made it to the big show? Do you know who is on the way up now? A carver graduate and one who contributes daily to the local community. Michael and DJ became great friends so expect DJ and more of his pro athlete friends to be on the show again soon.
0007 - Michael and Senator Randy Robertson of GA's 29th District have a frank discussion about numerous topics effecting the daily lives of people in the 706....election integrity, do Democrats and Republican work together in Atlanta, what is the most influential elected position in your daily life, what is the GA Republican Party doing after the elections of November and January, and what his opinion is of the politics of division to help GA moving forward. Agree with him or not....you gotta give the man credit for being honest and up front.
Michael and Mayor Skip sit down for a lengthy conversation about bout the big topics in Columbus today. A cordial but meaningful, lighthearted but also serious first interview covering COVID, CRIME and Columbus Agenda 2021. Expect Mayor Skip to be back again and again over the years
