Self compassion is pivotal to your recovery! Self compassion isn’t pity. Pity won’t empower you, self compassion will!
If you didn’t receive the nurturance you needed during your developmental years you will need to learn how to be kind to yourself.
If we learn during our developmental years that our opinion doesn’t make a difference, our voice isn’t heard, and no one responds to us we learn to cope. The experiences we have during childhood directly affect how we live life.
What do you subconsciously think or say to yourself throughout the day? Start to become aware, write down those thoughts. Counter critical thoughts with compassionate ones. I’m not referring to being positive for positivity’s sake.
The thoughts you think help you discover more about yourself. Become aware and curious about them. As you become more conscious to what you really think and how you feel deep down you will be able to heal more completely.
Neuroplasticity allows us to rewire structures in our brain through the thoughts we think and how we manage our minds. It is possible to change the way we perceive ourselves and life around us. Let’s get to it!
