You can thrive in life if you want! I'm here to help you understand yourself more and find a way to heal from the roots. Emotional responses are indicators. They show us that more is happening deeper within.
Sadness feels vulnerable. It’s necessary, but how long will it last? Tears may need a way out. If you feel the sadness or disappointment intensifying, allowing yourself to cry usually helps and brings relief.
Don’t allow shame to come in and tell you that you’re being overly sensitive. A baby. Shame wants us to feel small and dirty. It says there is something the matter with us, and who we are, or how we're behaving, isn’t good enough. It will make you want to hide. When shame shows up it’s important to confront those intrusive thoughts with self compassion and strength. Be your own best friend, and substitute kind words for the critical means ones rumbling through your mind. Unfortunately, shame is culturally accepted.
Fear is that terrified feeling that says, I am unsafe. What will happen? It’s out of control. It springs on all of a sudden, or sticks around constantly. When it’s a constant companion it shows up as skittish, jumpy behaviors, usually accompanied by yelling and out of control patterns. Fear thinks: the world is scary, people have ill-intentions. God wants to beat me down if I'm not doing the right things, or enough things to please. A display of power (anger, jealousy, etc) can sometimes be a mask for the fear beneath.
If the inner child - the child you once were - is trying to protect itself, you may do an assortment of things in order to grasp at feelings of safety and security.
Excitement and joy invigorate us! We have extra energy and we’re ready to get things done! Life suddenly feels brighter and easier.
Love makes us feel safe and secure. We can manage anything when we know we are cared for, supported and championed. Love makes the world go round :) It is the most powerful force in the universe. We were born to live in love, to be loved, and to exude love!
Unresolved trauma and tragedy reshape our lenses on life.
Depression feels isolating, and life feels bleak. It’s a heaviness that produces overwhelm. Life is too hard to manage.
Anxiety causes fear to rage, life feels unpredictability + unknowns feel terrifying. It’s debilitating. The smallest tasks can look and feel like a mountain to climb when anxiety and depression are present.
Healing makes managing these emotions easier. We'll experience ups and downs throughout life, but the lows can become easier to manage!
Grief is compounded sadness mixed with loss. It feels intense, and confusing. We have questions and thoughts... How will we continue on? What will life be like now? I don’t want this new normal. I didn’t choose this. It’s layered with ups and downs. We all experience loss in various forms many times through out life. As a child, your parent figures may not have been what you needed them to be. Loss shows up in many forms. When the body stores the grief and it’s suppressed it only intensifies. It needs a way out. Shaking, sobbing, screaming may all be necessary. Reach out for support. Find a safe, knowledgeable individual to be with you through the healing process. I'm certainly for you and glad to be a support if you need.
The journey to a better place may be uncomfortable, but it certainly gets easier!!
