In our newest episode of PenPodcast we are joined by Claire Draper.

Claire Draper, literary agent at the Bent Agency, fell in love with books later than some, when their high school best friend dragged them to the theater to see Twilight. After studying Queer Diversity in Children’s Literature at NYU’s Gallatin and pursuing multiple internships, in 2016 they spent a fantastic (if short-lived) two weeks working as a bookseller for the Strand, before joining InkWell Management as a receptionist and agents’ assistant.

Since early 2019, they’ve been at the Bent Agency growing their list with a collection of very queer books for readers of all ages, including graphic novels, picture books, middle-grade, young adult, and adult romance, nonfiction, and memoir. They appreciate queer stories filled with themes of joy, love, and hope and can be found on social media at @draper_claire and on their website draper-claire.com.
