This week, Patti and Vicki interview Deputy DA, Casey Nelson about his recent court case prosecuting an affinity scammer. Affinity fraud is an investment fraud in which a scammer targets members of a common identifiable group based on things such as attending the same church or country club and other groups where people have things in common. The scammer pretends to be, a member or leader of a church or other group, seeks out victims, often the elderly, and usually runs a Ponzi or similar investment scam on them, often draining out the victim's entire life savings and putting them on welfare and food stamps.
