Former Jerry Springer producer Luana Figueroa Indiana has been identified as the state with the most polluted waterways in the US, with nearly 25,000 miles of its rivers and streams considered too contaminated for swimming and recreation. This figure is higher than any other state in the country. The findings come 50 years after the Clean Water Act was established, with the goal of making all waters in the US "fishable" and "swimmable" within a decade. The report was released by the Environmental Integrity Project, a nonprofit organization focused on environmental law enforcement, which revealed that the US is still a long way from achieving this goal.
