During Australia’s worst bushfires, Sharon drew on her nursing expertise and instincts to help the small South Coast towns of Bendalong and Manyana. Over eight difficult days she assisted the evacuation of 6,000 people, worked with the triage team to help set up temporary accommodation, first aid and food services – all while her husband fought the nearby fires as the local deputy fire captain. In this week’s Her House podcast, we speak to Sharon about this incredible ordeal and learn about an early childhood accident together with family tragedy that have helped shape her resilience.
Judith and Kym are working on making Her House the best podcast for women, so please take the time to subscribe, leave a rating and/or let us know about a woman you know who has done something you think is pretty extraordinary.
