Vanee Matsalia is an English Language Arts teacher at Curtis Middle School in San Bernardino, CA.  Before becoming an educator, Vanee worked as a probation officer in the county.  This episode was recorded on September 30, 2020 after it was announced that she had been selected as Teacher of the Year by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools.
