James chapter 2:14 is often a passage used to teach that faith must have works in order to be saving faith. Otherwise it is just "professing faith" and according to this view the person does not have eternal life.This message shows that the real issue is between a faith that is active and one that is inactive. This week Pastor John delves into chapter three of Daniel in which the faith of his friends is tested. When we go through problems, persecutions, and trials in this life God is not just there for us, instead, God is right in the fire with us.
In the second sermon from our series on the book of Daniel, Pastor John takes a look at chapter 2 in which King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream that he cannot understand. God uses Daniel to provide the interpretation to the dream and gives us a glimpse at God’s plan for the future.
How do you handle life when things do not go your way? This is the first sermon in a new series from Pastor John on the book of Daniel. God, at times, allows us to be “captured” or “placed” in situations we do not understand. Like Daniel, sometimes we do not understand the situations that God places us in, but we can trust in His Sovereignty in the midst of life’s circumstances.

We are naturally pre-disposed to want easy lives that are free of the unexpected or difficult. However, as Christians, we are ultimately called to a life of sacrifice in which we wait expectantly for the Lord and obediently follow wherever he leads. In Carlos Calderon’s keynote message during our Missions Conference, we are turned to the book of Habakkuk and are challenged to consider how our calling to follow the Lord often looks similar to Habbakuk’s.
Dr. Paul Holritz has the message segment for Session 1 of our 2020 World Missions Conference. In this message Paul shares from the Scriptures and by way of personal illustration, the marks of a healthy ambassador for Christ.
In our second keynote message from our Missions Conference, Dr. Mark Borisuk takes us to Psalm 51 to consider "The Marks of Genuine Repentance" as demonstrated by David. Six marks of genuine repentance are identified directly from Psalm 51, culminating in the impact that our repentance has upon our evangelism and our worship.
Our series from the book of Job is concluded in this sermon from Job 42 in which we see God restore to Job what He took away during the time of his suffering. God restores Job's friends, his finances, his family, and his favor. A baptismal celebration is also part of this service!
After much deliberation by Job and his friends on the nature of Job's suffering, at last God speaks beginning in Job 38. As God begins to speak, Job and his friends are left speechless. In this sermon, listen as God takes Job to school on a variety of topics that all reveal the vast wisdom and might of God in contrast with man's limited understanding.
“The Gospel According to Job” is the title of the fourth sermon in our series, “Making Sense of Suffering.” In response to his friends’ remarks in Chapter 8, Job offers remarkable observations in Chapter 9 about the character of God. Despite the fact that Job lived before any portion of God’s Word might have been in his possession, his statements reveal a man who had a well formulated theology of who God is - giving him a firm foundation on which to stand during the time of his suffering.
In this third message from our series on the book of Job, we consider the depth of Job’s depression and how Job’s friends responded to that depression. As we consider the coming judgement for the believer, in particular, we are challenged to evaluate how the life we are now living will impact our reward and our responsibilities in eternity.
