Most of the time, the chaos inside our minds is of our own making. Eliminate that chaos, and you can find your way to presence. All that said, there are situations in life where the chaos is actually real. Take any emergency situation, such as a car accident or a house on fire. Thankfully, most emergencies come to an end. But what if they didn’t? What if you woke up every day and the chaos was still there? I don’t know this from experience, but I’m guessing that’s what war feels like. It’s hard to imagine what it’s like to keep one’s mind in check in the midst of war, so I’m not even going to try. Instead, we’re going to ask today’s guest, Chris Wade, an Iraq veteran, to tell us what it’s actually like. He’s going to talk to us about war, PTSD, what it’s like to try to write your way out of whatever war does to your mind, and a whole lot more.
