The Table Is Already Set

One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is that God never reacts in panic. He is always ahead of us.

Psalm 23:5
“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

David didn’t say that God might prepare a table. He said, “Thou preparest a table before me.” Before the battle, before the burden, before the uncertainty, God had already made provisions for David.
Before David ever arrived, the table had already been set.
