It’s okay not to be okay, but are you brave enough to admit how you truly feel? Listen to this episode as Dr. Sarah Langley discussed about how the COVID19 Pandemic has affected the mental state of everyone. It might be easy to admit what you feel to other people, but how easy really is it to admit something to yourself? Let’s talk and do a confession to ourselves of how pent-up emotions have brought us here.
Episode Timeline
Are you really who you are?
2:32
We all wanted to be happy, to be the best version of ourselves. That’s the mask we all like to wear. But when we turn the camera off, are we really the person we see in the mirror? Are we still the same person?
The might of our subconscious mind
3:59
Things that we really can’t stop from doing, is due to our failure of convincing our subconscious mind. You might believe you addressed it in your mind, but the habit still goes by. It’s the conviction that exists that keeps you from doing it out of fear and faith.
4:50
There are times where we can have a positive mindset in a positive standpoint and there are times where we move on to things that we do not acknowledge. But, denying the existence of something is what you wanted to avoid, for it will affect your conscious mind and it will be hard to shake it off.
Instill in our minds why its okay to not be okay
6:08
Give yourself a moment to let your emotions go. Don’t hold it in. Don’t pretend it does not exist. You will just make it harder for yourself. Give yourself a permission to let go.
8:04
To all the people working amidst the pandemic and acting like you are okay, even if you are torn apart, its okay to not be okay.
8:32
It’s one thing to talk to our loved ones, but we just worry because we are afraid of bothering them. Not wanting to be a burden. To desire strength and dislike weakness. It’s okay to be weak, it’s okay to not be okay.
Key Quotes
15:06 – 15:20
“The fact that you are strong enough to acknowledge your weakness and ask for help is a sign of strength. Weakness is acting tough, like everything is fine when it’s not.”
17:02 – 17:09
“We did not anticipate it. We put pressure to ourselves, get upset and beaten due to unpreparedness.”
