Former Clarke County Sheriff Ray Norris entered a guilty plea Monday in federal court in Mobile to making a false statement regarding a bank loan. Norris appeared before District Judge Jeffrey U. Beaverstock. Sentencing will be Jan. 9. The maximum penalty is 30 years in prison but the sentence could likely be much less and could possibly even all be on a probationary basis.
