Once again, a black man apparently not guilty of any wrongdoing, has died at the hands of police officers. Tyre Nichols was beaten so severely by five Memphis police officers on Jan. 7 that he died of his injuries three days later. Video of the incident released last Friday detailed the brutality. The five officers were fired and charged with murder. The nation was again shocked — and sickened. The black community especially so. The policemen were all black, they could have been NFL linebackers. Nichols? He reminded me of J.J. from the old sitcom “Good Times.” I am troubled....
