In late April until early June, a rare phenomenon will occur in our area, one that has not been seen since 1803. Alabamians are familiar with the emergence of cyclical cicadas, but for the first time in 221 years, two different groups, known as Brood XIII (13) and Brood XIX (19), will appear at the same time.
