The Clarke County Board of Education received a positive audit report from the state Department of Examiners of Public Accounts on July 14. Sherry Owen, audit manager with the state department, gave the report to the school board. The period covered October 2020 to September 2021, she said. “We issued an unmodified opinion on financial statements, which means the boards’ financial statements were presented fairly.” There were “no findings.” There was also an “unmodified opinion” on the federal financial assistance programs.
