I just watched Oprah's interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. This podcast is a real/raw conversation directly after watching the interview. It was hard to watch and these are my unedited thoughts.
I realize that I've made one of my characters "cartoonish" in many ways and I should dive deeper into the emotional aspects. Real life will snap us out of our illusions to remind us of the true human journey. As writers, we are able to capture, dismantle and explore that. It's a responsibility to do these stories justice and a honor. I'm now more committed to paying attention enough to what people say, don't say, and hint at so that when I write the stories are more genuine to our true life expereince.
