The Gentleman Pirate was a genuine Caribbean pirate who pillaged alongside the likes of Blackbeard. He was known as The Gentleman Pirate due to the fact that he was a somewhat wealthy landowner who, without any apparent reason or experience sailing, inexplicably decided to turn to piracy, built a boat, luxuriously equipped it, and set sail.
