Fine Gael continue to face calls for a general election in light of the Taoiseach's resignation.

Leo Varadkar's shock announcement yesterday has left his party looking to elect a new leader.

However Donegal TD Pearse Doherty feels now is the time for an election.

Deputy Doherty says that it should be up to the public to vote for their next Taoiseach, rather than having it decided for them.
