Independent Councillor, Tom Conaghan, has announced he will not be seeking re-election.

Cllr Conaghan, who's currently the Cathaoirleach of the Donegal Municipal District announced the news this afternoon.

He first stood for election in 2009 but didn't win a seat.

He would eventually win a seat in the 2014 local elections and retained it in 2019.
