There are three steps in the CEH Hacking Methodology (CHM): Gaining access to low-privileged user accounts by breaking passwords using brute-force, password guessing, and social engineering methods. Escalating privilege to executive levels to execute a secure activity. Deleting device log entries that lead to attackers' actions, preventing users from detecting them. Covering tracks to remove any signs of a security breach from the device. Finally, executing malicious programs like Trojans, Backdoors, Rootkits and Keyloggers.
Password cracking involves several actions that attackers take to gain access to a device. The majority of password cracking strategies are effective due to passwords that are vulnerable or easily guessable.
