In 1 Cor 10:1– 11:1, Paul warns those loved in Christ to flee idolatry and to do all for the glory of God. 1. Examples from Israel’s past failures (10:1-22) - Warning: when God’s people defy him, they are destroyed (v1-11) - Pride comes before the fall! (v12) - Yet God is faithful and offers a way out of every temptation (v13) - So dear friends, flee from idolatry (v14) - For eating and drinking have spiritual significance (v15-22)

What is the effect on non-Christians? (Gospel > my rights) 5. What is the effect on my spiritual life? (God’s glory > my freedom)
