Franklin's Lost Expedition of 1845 lost all 129 men during what was meant to be a 2 year voyage. Beset in ice, the crew abandoned ship and trekked across the Arctic tundra for help, only to disappear, never heard from again. The crew and their ships, the HMS Terror and the HMS Erebus, remained a mystery for over 100 years until Parks Canada found them in 2016. Research has been ongoing ever since!
