Finding You Confidence Alright, let’s dive right in. So the previous two episodes we talked about digging up your confidence and what that means. And digging up your confidence is the idea that you have confidence inside of you all along. It is your birthright. However, during your life, you may have not been encouraged to be confident, or you may not have been taught, or have known how to be confident. And instances could have happened that have hurt your confidence. So now we need to dig it up. We need to move things around, do some mindset shifts, go into that story that we tell about ourselves, reflect on past experiences and figure out where we lost our confidence.
And maybe you were never taught how to build it to begin with. That is OK too. Because when we go through previous experiences in which things have happened that hurt our confidence we can work through those experiences. And then we become confident and you have this confidence in you. You got it kid. You got what you need. Everyone has what they need. We’re just going to dig it up. It has been pushed aside.
Maintaining Confidence After Being Rejected And yesterday I talked about rejection, and I talked about rejection in the form of us being rejected for being who we are—maybe if you were called weird for liking something that other people didn’t like. And now I want to talk about rejection in the form of being rejected by other people. Maybe for a school, or a job interview, or a love interest, or a writing competition, or any kind of competition. Rejection hurts. And it can hurt our confidence if we let it. So the reason why rejection hurts is because of an outdated primal instinct.
So rejection, it takes up the same part of our brain and triggers the same pain response as if we are physically hurt. That’s why rejection hurts so bad. It can feel as bad as physical pain, because the same part of our brain is being activated. And that is because when we were hunting, hunter gatherers, and there were sabretoo
While people can help guide us, for the most part building confidence is a singular affair. It can feel confusing and you may think you aren’t making progress. Listen to this before you give up!

Intro Hey there and welcome to, I Can I Am I Will. The world’s number one podcast for confidence and self-empowerment. My name is Lyndsey. I am your confidence coach. And here, together with this podcast, we will discuss how you can stop limiting yourself to build your confidence and achieve great things.
I want to give you actionable advice that you can use in your life to build your confidence. To feel more self-assured. And so, you can have self-compassion and do the wonderful things that you want to do, but you’re not doing now because you feel stuck. Let’s get you unstuck.
Yesterday’s episode we talked about what digging up confidence means and why you need to dig up your confidence. So we’ll go into just a quick refresher. And then we’re going to talk about being rejected and how rejection can hurt our confidence and hinder us when we are trying to build it.
First, I will ask you to please like, comment, share, leave reviews. All that good stuff please. I’d really appreciate it. You’re helping me out and I love this community. Thank you so much for helping me out.
We All Have an Inherent Confidence OK let’s get into it. So when I say that you are digging up your confidence, I am referring to the fact that every single person has confidence within them but then they were just dig it up. And we need to dig it up because sometimes our confidence can be pushed down, or we can push it aside, or we can reject our confidence. And the reason why we might reject our confidence, our true selves, is because we’ve been rejected. Which I understand can sound kind of confusing. Just hear me out here.
So in our current culture and world, being weird can be considered a bad thing. For me personally if someone said, “would you rather be normal or weird?” I mean weird all the way. What is normal anyway? But we’re not here to discuss that. This is not like a binary thing, like weird versus normal people. We are accepting of all people here. Because when you are confident you accept everyone and you love everyone. Because you see them as who they naturally are. They are a being deserving of confidence, just like you are.
However, unfortunately, in our current world people who are considered weird or different may feel like they are being rejected from the group. For instance, Steve Jobs. When he was first starting out he worked at Hewlett-Packard. I’m pretty sure. And he did not wear deodorant and kind of smell bad. And he was kind of weird. People thought he was weird. So he got pushed to the night shift. Now could you imagine Steve Jobs when he was still around, people pushing him to the night shift? No they wanted him on stage. Everyone loved him. Because in our current society you are weird until you’re not. You’re weird until enough people believe in you that you’re not weird anymore.
You Are Not Broken So what we need to do is to continually believe in ourselves. Even if other people think we’re weird, or treat us differently,
Did you know that you are naturally confident? Sometimes we lose track because our environment can bring our confidence down. It is easier to build our confidence when we know what is holding us back.

Intro Hey there and welcome to I Can, I Am, I Will, the world’s number one podcast for confidence and self-empowerment. Woot woot. This is our 4th episode in our 100 podcasts in 100 days series.
Welcome, I am Lyndsey, your confidence coach. And here together, with this podcast, we will discuss how you can stop limiting yourself to build your confidence and achieve great things. You are going to do the things. That things that you want to do that make you happy. You are going to achieve your goals with actionable advice and simply with us opening the conversation around confidence. And today I want to talk about what it means when I say that we are digging up your confidence.
Finding Your Confidence So in the previous two episodes I referenced that you have confidence within you all along. Because you do. Every single person has a natural ability to be confident. And when I say we are digging it up, I mean that we are shuffling things around. We’re doing mindset shifts. We’re creating positive self-talk and we are helping you to find that confidence that is within you but has just been buried or pushed to the side. And in order for us to dig it up, we need to figure out why it was buried.
So today I’m going to talk to you about certain reasons as to why you may not be feeling as confident as you would like or as confident as you naturally are. And the first reason is because you could not have been taught. The people who brought you up, your parents or your guardians, people around you may not have known themselves how to be confident. They might not of had confidence or self-assurance within themselves. So then how were they going to teach you? Especially if they didn’t realize the importance of confidence. They might not even realize it. That that’s something they need. So why are they going to teach you something that they don’t know? That they even need?
And another reason why we may not have confidence is because of this world and this culture and this society. This is not a society that encourages confidence. It is rough out there. There are people who think that negative criticism is the same as constructive criticism. I know. I’ve met them. No, it’s not the same.
Confidence from Criticism Constructive criticism helps people. It helps them build themselves up by realizing what they aren’t doing right and correcting it. Negative criticism doesn’t help anyone build anyone up. Because all it does is say negative things about a person. And that can bring your confidence down. Especially if you are trying to build your confidence. Because when you are trying to build your confidence it is very helpful to have a certain particular area in which you feel confident. And then you can utilize those feelings of confidence in that area to help you in other areas. But if you haven’t gotten that feedback or that constructive criticism, and you aren’t feeling confident in really any area, then it’s going to be rough for you to build that confidence.
Do you really know what confidence is? It definitely can’t be bought. You’ve been surrounded by fake confidence for so long you may not realize. Listen here to find out what true confidence is, and how to build it.

Intro Hey there and welcome to I Can, I Am, I Will. The world’s number one podcast for confidence and self-empowerment. This is our third episode in 100 podcasts in 100 days. I am Lyndsey your confidence coach. And here we will discuss how you can stop limiting yourself so you can build confidence and achieved goals. I what you self-empowered and get that self-confidence and go out and do the things. And when I say the things, I mean the things that will make you happy. As long as you’re not hurting anyone else.
What Confidence Is Not Today we’re going to talk about the definition of confidence, what it is, and what it isn’t. So sometimes confidence can be misunderstood or cockiness can be misunderstood as confidence. And people who are cocky or have like an overinflated vision of themselves can be seen as confidence. But that is not confidence. And a great way for you to test it is to consider that confidence—and keep in your mind—that confidence is not loud. Confidence is not proud. It’s not as they say “peacocking.” Where the guys will like puff up their chest and wear certain things to try and attract the opposite sex. Or whoever they’re trying to attract. Who knows.
But that is not confidence.
Confidence is not flashy car or nice clothes. Confidence cannot be bought. Confidence is an internal thing and confidence is a belief in yourself. It’s a self-empowerment. It is a feeling of self-assurance and it is an appreciation of your abilities in your qualities. Competence is self-love. It’s empowerment. Confidence is an internal thing. It is not external. It is internally within you. It is your birthright. You deserve to have it. We are digging it up. We’re talking about it. We’re mixing things around. Pulling it to the surface.
But confidence is not bitch face or acting like you’re better than others. I was looking up different confidence coaches and this one, she has a different style than I do. I personally do not agree with her style. And she had. I want it—I want the environment here to be more inviting. I want to be inviting of you. I want to be compassionate. This stuff is tough and you are essentially learning a skill. You are learning about something that you have inherently inside of you. But has been pushed down and when you build it you were bringing it back up to surface.
What Confidence Is But as you bring it back up to surface there are other things are going to come up. The things that were holding it down. And you have to work through all that. And it can be difficult. It can be challenging. So I like this to be a compassionate environment because I want to show you compassion while you’re trying to find your own self compassion. I think that is the most beautiful thing in the world we are thriving off of each other. But then I see this one woman’s website and not to dog her or anything. I’m not making fun of her. She has just a different style than I do for confidence. She thinks confidence is like, i
Want to get motivated and confident? Here we talk about the benefits of building confidence—there are most likely a lot more than you think. Once you have the why, you’ll develop the drive.

Intro Hey there and welcome to I Can, I Am, I Will. The world’s number one podcast for confidence and self-empowerment. This is our second episode in our 100 podcasts in 100 days. Yesterday was our kickoff episode and we talked about a technique to help you build confidence. Today we’re going to talk about the benefits of confidence. And the reason why we’re talking about the benefits is to give you why. Why you’re here. Why you want to build confidence, and what you will get from building it.
My name is Lyndsey. I’m your confidence coach. And I want to help you build your confidence so you can stop limiting yourself and you can achieve goals. I want to help you because I was once in your position trying to build confidence. But I didn’t know that I needed to build confidence. I was literally just looking for anything to make me feel better. And I found confidence after over a decade of working on myself, reading a bunch of stuff, and taking on different perspectives. So now I want to show you all of the great things that I’ve learned.
I would really appreciate if you would like, comment, share, leave views. I’m really trying to get the word out about this podcast. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you, I love this community.
Benefits of Building Confidence So the benefits of confidence. Sometimes people think that they need to do something in order to get confidence. Like they need to get the job or achieve the goal or lose weight in order to feel confident. But that’s not the case. So it’s actually kind of the opposite. So when you decide that you’re going to do something like lose the weight or go for a goal you take action. And you work on your abilities and you build your confidence.
For instance, with this podcast I am not feeling so confident about undertaking 100 podcasts in 100 days. It’s a lot. I’m super excited, and I want to help people, but it’s also scary. There’s a lot of work involved and I want to do a great job. So it’s a lot more than I thought it was going to be. But I’m doing it because I want to and I’m confident that I can. It’s going to be difficult, but I have done difficult things before so I can. And while I do this and while I take on this undertaking, I’m going to build my confidence up further, and that’s what you do when you build confidence. You keep building it up further and further all throughout your life. So then you just keep taking on other undertakings, things that you would not do if you do not feel confident, and then you open yourself up to a whole bunch of opportunities that would not be there for you had you not open yourself up with having confidence and taking action.
Confidence Mixed with Action Because confidence mixed with action is going to change your life. And when you’re confident you will act because you won’t be tide down with feelings of insecurity or worry. You won’t be stuck. So confidence is your mindset towards who you are
