This poem is related to the legend of The Black Bitch ie the Black female greyhound depicted on Linlithgow's town crest.
Written and performed by Glenn Muir.
The Black Bitch is the Black Greyhound on the town of Linlithgow's coat of arms.
It is also the name of a popular tavern in the town and the title given to any person, male or female
born in the town. However since being bought by a Sussex based pub chain there is a real danger
that the tavern will be renamed. They have decided that the very name is racist, sexist or both
when in reality it is neither. This poem in Scots is written in support of the campaign to keep
the tavern's traditional name.
