Before the world became busy with issues of war and peace, I was sharing some personal testimony that comes from recent experiences.
While the global situation remains tenuous, I want to shift our shared focus back to our continuing conversation from the early part of last week, when I noted, "so overcoming the month that has been thus far has been a bit challenging for me".
I couldn’t just snap my fingers or wiggle my nose and find myself closer to where I wanted to be. It’s taken effort to escape the “Depths of Dormancy” , “Roll Away the Stone” and “Reignite”.

This is not what I had planned for today.
I found myself at the keyboard much later than usual,as we saw the first disturbing reporting of an apparent attack possibly leading to a full scale invasion in the Ukrainian capital.
While I have spent most of my professional life in Journalism, especially "hard" news reporting and investigations, it's not my purpose here to delve into the politics or history.
My only thought is for the people. The impacts on those, not only in the Ukraine but truly world wide. With NATO and the US potentially becoming involved plus who knows at this point what this could be a precursor for, we will all be touched by these developing situations.
The important thing to remember is we are not powerless.
We can have an impact, a positive effect because what the world needs now is truly prayer.
This is my call to each and everyone of you to pray. Pray for those in the region. Pray for those being sent to battle and most of all pray for peace.
So as I encourage you all to pray, on this edition of “Becoming Today” I want to share my personal approach to prayer.

As I struggled with my inability to perform I had no choice but to reflect on why I may be going through this. I still really don’t have all the answers and probably never will but certainly I knew what it would take to overcome.

let’s choose to agree that R-E-S-P-E-C-T means accepting somebody for who they are, even though they are different from you or you may not agree with them. Respect builds trust, safety, and fosters healthy attitudes, though these emotions don’t come naturally; they are something you must learn and then share.
Respect also involves treating others the way you want to be treated. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Traditionally recalled as “The Golden Rule”, simply put it is always being considerate of others as well as honoring their feelings, opinions, and property.

Eleven days ago I introduced you to this concept of the “8 Points of Light”.
Much of what we will be discussing was learned and came to me by revelation during an 11-day odyssey, I’ve been referring to as “My Revival”.
During this time of travel, restoration and intense reflection I found myself being guided to numerous solutions and possible ways of “Becoming”. Many of the answers I was led to were ones that at the time I didn't even know I was looking for.
This idea of the 8 Points of Light is among those. While it builds upon and expands some concepts we’ve previously talked about along our shared journey, it also introduced me and now I will introduce you to some amazing concepts that are already improving my life and overall levels of joy.
Contentment, rest, peace and happiness are in far greater supply and more readily available since I accepted this knowledge and leapt forward in Faith with it.

In the Scriptures, the passage often referred to as “A Time For Everything”, outlines the many changing seasons we all experience in life. It outlines the constant cycle of “Becoming”. In fact 28 specific times or seasons are mentioned in this one passage.
Now on “Becoming Today”, as part of our examination of ourselves and our shared paths we’ll take note that not included in those examples is a very important aspect; none of the 28 mention a time to quit.

It happens to everyone. There are times along our journey where we simply do not see movement. We may feel stuck, but we are being held in place, so we can be better prepared for our next step, our next realization.
Here at “Becoming Today” being held in place is all about timing. And keeping our timing in sync. The decisions, choices and options we have related to when things will occur and trusting that the timing is right on schedule.

Is it just me or is this year of 20/20+1 just flying by?
Here we are approaching the end of another week, the 22nd weekend of the year. Summer is just 14 days away and we just began the halfway point or the 6th month.
Today we’ll take a look in the mirror at some key concepts from the first part of this year and see how it can continue our forward focus of “Becoming Today”

Before we can accelerate into our future, we need to carefully and thoughtfully put things in reverse for a moment, back up, and unload, so we can continue on with plenty of space for our new attitudes, understandings and development.
You can not create a state of “Becoming”, if you aren't willing to let the former or current realities go. Letting go of the old is our shared focus now on “Becoming Today.”

On this date of the 1st of June this year of 20/20+1 I am renewing my commitment to not going back to anything. Forget all the chatter and nonsense about getting back to the way things were pre-pandemic. What passed for normalcy was anything but. It is time to renew our vision, refresh our focus and restore our true paths.
In my thoughts that makes this a landmark, a milestone, a point of demarcation. Now that we understand that things are no longer how they once were, we can more easily accept that how we need to prepare, what we can expect, and even how we anticipate the next changes beyond the next corner are becoming to us from a new point, perspective and even view of life.
Starting this step along our shared journey with the wisdom of hindsight, we are able to clearly see what did and didn’t work for us in the past. What we need to fully release. What we truly cherish, and desire to recreate in beauty.
What a gift! Therefore today we’ll look at how to make the most of this time for renewal.

Last year I hit some all time lows. Suddenly every aspect of my life seemed to be spiraling downward. I saw absolutely no place, or reason for me in this so-called ‘ new reality’. I had lost all hope and literally prayed for an end to it all. Thank God for unanswered prayers.
