Katie Johnson and Howard Middleton

Shackbaggerly - an adjective to describe ‘anything left in a loose, disorderly manner,’ not dissimilar to conversations between friends Katie Johnson & Howard Middleton who regularly appear together at various Food Festivals across the country, with Howard doing cookery demonstrations whilst Katie hosts them & because they usually end with a smile, it was suggested they team up to do a Podcast, so here it is. Katie is a former BBC Presenter & Howard a star off ‘The Great British Bake Off.’ They both love old Cookery Books & the stories they hold, but then they go off on one - Shackbaggerly!

Cue the song 'On The Road Again' Since last week's podcast Katie and Howard met in person for the first time in nearly two years. They were guests at Betley Show and Country Fair in Cheshire. As ever things didn't go to plan, as if there was a plan in the first place!

Also in Shackbaggerly 25: Howard's mum has a lunchtime treat, Katie meets identical twins aged 10 and 8! and the British weather plays havoc with Blueberry Jam. All these things sum up why this podcast is called Shackbaggerly - an adjective to describe 'anything left in a loose, disorderly manner,' not dissimilar to the conversations between friends Howard Middleton & Katie Johnson.

UPDATE JANUARY 2022:   Hello. If you've just discovered the Shackbaggerly podcast welcome. We do hope you enjoy listening to Howard and Katie's observations, memories and their sense of humour. The podcast came about due to the Corona Virus lockdown in the UK preventing Katie and Howard performing at food festivals across the country. This episode was a pilot programme, recorded on a wing and a prayer, to gauge reaction to two people talking about food, old recipes and the memories it triggered of years gone by. We're sorry that the technical quality is poor but stick with it, after around episode six we changed the way we recorded the show and you'll hear the improvement... although the content stays the same! As of the time of this update you've only another 44 episodes to binge listen too. Enjoy.
