The length of your to-do list is often a source of anxiety. When the to-do list is short you feel productive and good about yourself, but when the to-do list is long you feel inadequate and overwhelmed. But the length of your to-do list doesn't actually determine how you feel. It doesn't determine how accomplished you are. Your to-do list is neutral. When you create a balanced life, you have to feel in control of your to do's.
