Do you believe in sin? Many people in today's world do not. To talk about sin only brings up harmful feelings of guilt and shame. Perhaps it'd be better if we never mention it.  You do what you want; I'll do what I want.  Those are popular notions. But that's not what Jesus taught. Listen what Jesus said from Mark 9:42-50.
