A revelation of God’s holiness inevitably leads to a realization of personal sin. Once we see God in all His glory we cannot help but be undone. Like Isaiah we will cry, “Woe is me!” Thankfully the Lord does not leave us overwhelmed by our sin. Instead, He takes our guilt away and makes atonement for our sin.

“Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar…He touched my lips with it and said…‘Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.’”

— Isaiah 6:7

Lord Jesus, we are a people of unclean lips. Remove our guilt and forgive our sins. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
