I read The Chronicles of Narnia all the way through and my number one takeaway is how much fun the end of our world will be.

How did we come to this conclusion? You’ll have to listen to the episode.

Part two is here! We had a lot of fun looking up Hebrew words and talking about Jesus from the oldest book of the Bible. Thanks for listening!

This week we discuss the book of Job. We talk about Job as one example of the messiah archetype in the Old Testament, of which there are many. Don't worry, we will continue this conversation next week and get into Elihu's monologue and God's response (the best part, in my opinion).

This week is a fantastic hodgepodge (I don’t think I’ve ever had to spell that word before…) of what we’re learning and wrestling with in the word of God this week. The main takeaway? God is really, really good at this story telling thing. We discuss characters, archetypes, evil, deliverance, Jesus, wine, vengeance, and what we ought to do with it all. In short: listen to God, he is always speaking.

How does Jesus advance his Kingdom? Not at all the way the world expected. We, as Christians, have the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead within us, what are we doing with that? Are we living in such a way that Christ is honored, even if we are not? What would that look like, individually and/or collectively?

Don't worry, there will be a part 2 :)

This week we dissect another popular song. Because why not? They're asking to be analyzed.

Next week, we'll be discussing the gospels. Specifically how Jesus does ministry and how the kingdom of God works in every day life. If you'd like, read one or all of the gospels this week so we can all be on the same page for the discussion.

Also Easter's coming! Are you ready?

Episode 20! Thanks for sticking with us, and if you're new, welcome! This week we talk about the book of Titus. A very practical and evangilistic book that is helpful for all believers everywhere. We also get into some common mistakes we make around these topics. Thanks for listening! I encourage you all to read the book of Titus before listening (it's only three chapters, you can do it :)

This week’s episode was a ton of fun. Don’t worry, we wont stay in the weeds of secular culture too long, we will be returning to our beloved book more in depth next week (though it’s hard for us to not bring it up if you can’t tell :)

For now, enjoy this discussion of ghosts, spirits, angels, demons, human pride, and the power of Jesus over it all. Disclaimer, we are not experts (you guys know this) and all opinions here are just that, opinions, and should be taken as such (aka with lots of grains of salt).

This week, we talk about some culture stuff (we’re really getting out there now). Specifically, a new popular song you’ve probably heard: “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus. This song is surprising is a lot deeper than anyone, including Miley herself, probably knows. So we get to talk about a lot of other fun stuff along the way. Including but not limited to toxic femininity, God’s image in men and women, pride (lots of this one), suppressing the truth, strength chained to pain, and why none of this is working.

We’re back! Both of us :) We had a super fun conversation about some really fun topics that a lot of people disagree about. The big idea: who’s in charge? And why do you care? Probably because you want to be the one in charge. The good news is, there is peace and contentment in just resting in God’s authority. Let Jesus be in charge, he’s good at it, and we are better as creatures.

I (Hailey :) was solo this week, which feels really weird. Though, honestly, it was  a good chance to have a more personal discussion of what I learned  listening to the the whole Bible this last month. It has been super good  and if nothing else, it just makes me want to learn more and more. I  talk a bit about some takeaways, give a few encouragements for the  ongoing journey we are all a part of, and some practical ways to enjoy  and learn from God’s word daily. Our other stuff: https://linktr.ee/livelikeit.official--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/hailey-speten/support

This weeks episode is all about, well, all of it. And by that I mean the  mess that is our culture. So how did we get here? The answer is  multifaceted but the short answer is, we’ve always been like this, we  are just trying to invent new ways of doing evil (Romans 1-3). Why,  then, does it feel like the damnation train is picking up some serious  speed? You’ll have to listen to find out.

What kind of world are we living in? We have all wondered this and it is something every Christian should  have an answer to. We are living in the world God made.

More than that, we are living in the world that God is 100%, in all ways, at all times, ruling and reigning over. How does this affect the way we live? I would argue that this fact really should change everything about you.

There are more than a few cameos from various shapes, mainly 3D but maybe one 4D... You'll have to listen to find out.

This episode is based on Matthew 16:24-25 and is all about Jesus' command and invitation to those who would "come after" him. As Christians we must learn to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow him. We spend some time in each of these steps and go a little into what that might look like practically.

Thanks for being here! God bless!

This week was all about the church: who we are, who we are following, what we are, and what we are called to. I loved this conversation (I know I say that every week) and I think it is a super relevant topic for our time and the work that is ahead of us.

Thanks for listening and may God bless you this week!

This episode is a little bit different than our regular rhythm, we talk mainly about our world, specifically our generation, and where they are going and what we as Christians can do to further the kingdom in the midst of it.

I’ll let you in on the secret, it’s not that complicated, but it is still certainly difficult (the good kind). So don’t lose heart! Our God has won and his kingdom will come, what will you be doing in the meantime?

This episode is all about one of my favorite topics: the cross of Jesus Christ.Paul says that he decided to “know nothing but Christ and him crucified” when he was with his new church. This means a few things, but for one, Jesus being crucified must be a pretty big deal. This also implies that the cross is a completely comprehensive display of God’s love and redemptive plan. That being said, I acknowledge we didn’t cover all the points we could have on this topic (nor do I really think anyone could ever fully uncover the entire reality of the cross of Christ, both as a historical event and an eternal truth). But it is, without a doubt, a crucial topic to dive into, understand, and discuss. It impacts everything we know about the world right down to our everyday lives, after all!Feel free to respond to the Q&A on this episode to share your thoughts :)Subscribe: https://livelikeit.substack.comMerch: https://livelikeitclothingco.etsy.com--- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/hailey-speten/support

aaaand here's the rest for you! Like I said I really loved this conversation. There is amazing power in the cross of Christ, but there are different ways to respond. Which you choose determines your future and is truly a matter of life and death.

Thanks for listening! Happy new year!

It's Christmas time in the City of God! (Part 1)

We are releasing the first part of this episode on Christmas day (woo!) and part two will come at regular time on Tuesday. I really loved talking about the origin and true meaning of Christmas and how we as Christians have the best reason to celebrate and not just with empty and external happiness, but internal and eternal joy. Part two will be a little more on the topic of the power and impact of Jesus' birth, life, death, and resurrection, specifically for his people both then and now.

Thanks for listening! Stay tuned for part two!

Remember that episode about why I'm not changing the name? Well here is the episode about why I am. For real this time, I really like this new branding and everything that is going alongside it. So this week’s episode is essentially about all things new. The new name, new branding, new clothing company, and the new plan moving forward, though that one isn’t technically new, we just didn’t have a plan and now we do.

We mostly talk about the heart behind the name itself, so you won’t just be listening to an infomercial for all my ideas (as much as I know you would all love that).

Welcome back!

This week was a ton of fun! We talk about the Word of God: who, what, why, where, and how. The Matrix made more than a few cameos, and I'm still trying to understand the full meaning behind the sheer amount of cattle in the old testament. If you get it, let me know. Hope you enjoy!

Hey folks!

This episode is all about why I chose the name "A Glimpse of Eternity" since there is actually a backstory to it and I wanted to let everybody in on that in the beginning. This episode also includes some of the heart behind the importance of the Bible and why it is such a central part of our lives as Christians living the world God made. Hope you enjoy!
