God is really, really good at this story telling thing. We discuss characters, archetypes, evil, deliverance, Jesus, wine, vengeance, and what we ought to do with it all. In short: listen to God, he is always speaking.

How does Jesus advance his Kingdom? Not at all the way the world expected. We, as Christians, have the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead within us, what are we doing with that? Are we living in such a way that Christ is honored, even if we are not? What would that look like, individually and/or collectively?

I (Hailey :) was solo this week, which feels really weird. Though, honestly, it was a good chance to have a more personal discussion of what I learned listening to the the whole Bible this last month. This weeks episode is all about, well, all of it. And by that I mean the mess that is our culture. So how did we get here? The answer is multifaceted but the short answer is, we’ve always been like this, we are just trying to invent new ways of doing evil (Romans 1-3). What kind of world are we living in? We have all wondered this and it is something every Christian should have an answer to. We are living in the world God made.
More than that, we are living in the world that God is 100%, in all ways, at all times, ruling and reigning over. How does this affect the way we live? I would argue that this fact really should change everything about you.

This episode is based on Matthew 16:24-25 and is all about Jesus' command and invitation to those who would "come after" him. As Christians we must learn to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow him. We spend some time in each of these steps and go a little into what that might look like practically.

This episode is all about one of my favorite topics: the cross of Jesus Christ.Paul says that he decided to “know nothing but Christ and him crucified” when he was with his new church. This means a few things, but for one, Jesus being crucified must be a pretty big deal. This also implies that the cross is a completely comprehensive display of God’s love and redemptive plan.That being said, I acknowledge we didn’t cover all the points we could have on this topic (nor do I really think anyone could ever fully uncover the entire reality of the cross of Christ, both as a historical event and an eternal truth). But it is, without a doubt, a crucial topic to dive into, understand, and discuss. It's Christmas time in the City of God! (Part 1)
We are releasing the first part of this episode on Christmas day (woo!) and part two will come at regular time on Tuesday. I really loved talking about the origin and true meaning of Christmas and how we as Christians have the best reason to celebrate and not just with empty and external happiness, but internal and eternal joy. Part two will be a little more on the topic of the power and impact of Jesus' birth, life, death, and resurrection, specifically for his people both then and now.
